My Brill Razor Cut

Let me tell you why I am infatuated with my new Brill Razorcut mower. On a beautiful midsummer morning I awoke to birds singing and a warm fresh breeze blowing through my slightly open bedroom window.

I realized it was Sunday, the day for sleeping in, so I rolled over for some extra sleep.

All of a sudden the blare of a thundering roar crashed into my bedroom.

reel mower‘An invasion’, I thought as I sprang out of bed and ran to the window only to see….Bob, my neighbor mowing his lawn with his old gas lawn mower and that was when the gas fumes started wafting in.

“Hey nice neighbor, get an ‘eco’ mower!” I yelled at him. Well those were not the exact words I belted out. I am sure he never heard me over his loud lawn mower anyways.

“What is an ‘eco’ mower”, you ask?

This is a lawn mower that is friendly to the environment. Ecologically sane in which no carbon footprint is left behind. An ‘eco’ mower does not use gas, oil or an electrical current possibly generated by burning coal.

In my opinion the most ecologically proper method of mowing a lawn is the classic push reel lawn mower and the Brill Razorcut mower stands out the most.

When I first started I would have loved one of this beauties.

These push reel ‘eco’ mowers are not as laborious as one would think. The other day I was able to push this mower with one hand and hold an open beer in the other. That day I think the beer put out more gas emissions than this ‘eco’ mower ever will.

Peace and quiet, no unhealthy gas fumes and heat blasting at you, no hands tingling from motor vibrations, no mowing over a live electrical cord an ‘eco mower has lots more to offer. Benefits such as no extra expenses with purchasing fossil fuels (gas and oil), spark plugs, chains, belts and wiring making it virtually maintenance free. The best benefit is that the neighbors will not hate you.

The German engineered Brill Razorcut Mower has all this and more. This push reel mower folds up for easy storage and is also designed with an ergonomically shaped frame with a durable rubber/foam handle to give you a more comfortable experience in pushing your lawn mower.

The robust Brill Razorcut mower has been constructed with sealed steel bearings so no extra maintenance is needed and flame hardened steel blades so you can mow your lawn to your hearts content before sharpening is necessary. Additionally, these blades stay sharp for eight years!

Other features that this ‘eco’ mower has should be mentioned. Features such as large eight inch wheels and spindle mounted on sealed ball bearings so that it spins freely resulting in easy pushing.

The blades on the Brill Razorcut mower use ‘contact free cutting technology’, a silent cut design preventing metal on metal contact which significantly increases the blade life and much easier lawn mowing.

Finally, the attractive “rear spoiler” which ejects the grass cuttings in a controlled manner. Speaking of controlling grass cuttings the Brill Razorcut mower has an optional grass catcher bag made specifically for it.

Carbon Footprint Facts.

The Brill Razor mower1) More than 50 million Americans mow their lawns every weekend using 800 million gallons of gas per year.

2) In one summer day in the Portland/Vancouver region only, gas powered lawn equipment produces over 80,000 pounds of pollutants.

3) Experts say that if the U.S. eliminated just half of the gas lawn mowers that would be equivalent to taking 2 million cars off the road.

4) Over 17 million gallons of gas are spilled onto the ground each year refueling lawn and garden equipment.

5) Electric mowers are much better than their counterpart gas mowers, as long as the electricity used is not produced by a coal burning generating plant.

Customer Reviews:

“This reel mower does a great job and is so lightweight I can easily lift and carry it. Its light weight also makes it more maneuverable. Very nice handle height and design, very comfortable to use. I can hear the sounds of the neighborhood while I’m mowing. I’ve had push mowers before, this is featherweight compared to those and cuts just as well if not better. Nice engineering.”

“My favorite points about this mower (other than the obvious environmental benefits) is that I can interact with my kids while mowing, I can stop and not have to worry about whether or not it will restart, I can enjoy listening to my iPod while mowing, and I don’t have to worry about rocks or sticks flying up in my face (if you hit a stick, it will just stop in its tracks until you roll it backwards to release the stick). All in all, I have been very happy with the Brill Razorcut 38.”

“I really wonder what all the fuss is about. I grew up pushing my dad’s very heavy reel mower, so when my electric died on me, I did my research and decided I’d go for the Brill. I’d guess I cut both my lawns in half the time with this machine, as you can cut at a quicker pace, it’s less heavy to turn, no wire to worry about, and you can pick it up with one hand once you’re done. I’ve already allowed my 6 year old daughter to try it out (the handle has to be held a little high for her, but otherwise she can manage it). Little twigs will stop you in your tracks, but it’s a simple thing to clear them from the blade. And it’s so quiet. This is an easy mower to recommend.”
